Absolutely. Ballyliffin Golf Club is one of Ireland's must-play golfing destinations. The Glashedy Links — named after a dramatic rock formation offshore — hosted the Irish Open in 2018 and consistently features in top-ten lists of Irish golf courses. The Old Links is equally enjoyable and more forgiving. The club is located on the Inishowen Peninsula, Ireland's most northerly point, making it a truly remote and memorable experience.
Rosapenna Golf Resort is located near the village of Downings on the Rosapenna Peninsula in north-west Donegal, approximately 75km from Letterkenny. The resort sits on a spectacular stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way and is home to three courses: the Sandy Hills Links, the Old Tom Morris Links (dating to 1893) and the newer St. Patrick's Links. Accommodation is available on-site at Rosapenna Hotel.
Rosapenna Golf Resort has three 18-hole links courses: the Sandy Hills Links (designed by Pat Ruddy), the Old Tom Morris Links (an historically significant layout first laid out in 1893) and St. Patrick's Links (opened in 2022). This makes Rosapenna one of Ireland's premier multi-course golf destinations, comparable to Ballyliffin's two-course offering and capable of filling a 3-night golf break without repeating a round.
Donegal Town is approximately 260km from Dublin city centre, a drive of around 3 hours via the N4/N15. Ballyliffin on the Inishowen Peninsula is around 330km from Dublin (roughly 3.5–4 hours). Belfast Airport is a closer alternative for those flying in — it is approximately 2 hours' drive from Letterkenny and 2.5 hours from Ballyliffin, making it the preferred gateway for many visiting golfers.
