Narin & Portnoo Golf Club

Narin & Portnoo Golf Club occupies a spectacular site above Narin Beach in south-west Donegal, with the course tumbling through wild dune land above the sandy shore of Gweebarra Bay. One of Donegal's more remote golf destinations, it rewards those who make the journey with exceptional links terrain, outstanding value green fees and a genuine sense of arriving somewhere unspoiled by commercialisation.

At 6,197 yards and par 70, the course is not excessively long but it plays with real character — the ground is firm, the fairways narrow in places, and the rough is genuine links rough that punishes wayward shots. The greens are well-maintained and many have subtle borrows that only regular visitors know how to read. A number of holes run close to the cliff edge with views across Gweebarra Bay to the mountains of south Donegal on clear days.

The club is a traditional Irish golf club in the best sense — informal, welcoming and proud of its links heritage. Green fees are among the most competitive of any links course in Donegal, making it an essential stop on any Wild Atlantic Way golf tour. Combined with Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh and Bundoran further south, it forms the core of the Donegal Bay links experience.
